Noteworthy for February

One of the important things a blog can assist with is providing timely information. A monthly newsletter is a fine communication tool. However, a blog can offer information quicker.

I hope this information helps you and your family.

Some NOTEWORTHY items:

  • Re-registration time has come and gone. I ask that any family that has not yet sent in their re-registration information to do so right away. We are sending home reminders and I will post forms here so that you may download them and send them to the office. Thank you for your cooperation.
  • It is imperative that students dress for the weather. Recess will be outside as often as possible. Coats are a requirement. Hats, scarves and gloves are also recommended strongly.
  • Please refresh all family members regarding our policies for inclement weather:
    • When the weather appears threatening, you are urged to tune in to WHUD (100.7) and, if you have access, go to www.whud.com and check the Storm Center for a listing of school closings. Please do not call the school office to get information on closings or delays or early dismissals. It is important that phone lines are kept open during these times. I
    • If you live outside the North Salem District and your school district is closed while St. Joseph’s School is open, it would be up to you to decide whether or not to transport your child to and from school by car. If St. Joseph’s/North Salem Schools are open, you would, however, know that the roads in this area are in good condition.
  • Snacks are only available to students after they have eaten their lunch. Please remind your child that they must eat lunch first before asking for snack.
  • We are in desperate need of volunteers at lunch time, specifically Monday, Tuesday and Friday. If you can, I would ask you to offer one hour a week to help us assist the children at lunch. Thank you.
